About Us

White Marine Services is a partnership formed between brothers David and Peter White in February 2006.
Our knowledge and experience within the marine trade is extensive and we have specialist expertise in sails, spars, ropes and rigging, and boat repairs.

	David White was the managing director of a leading spar making company for 28 years. During that time he was involved in the manufacture of spars and rigging for top racing dinghies and yachts and also a multitude of cruising yachts. David has raced many dinghies and yachts throughout his career but more recently has concentrated on the Squib class, in which he has won the Inland Championship and been runner-up in the National Championship.		Peter White trained as a sailmaker and boatbuilder and more recently was a consultant to a company selling West System Epoxy products.  As the owner of his own company, Peter built over 1000 high performance dinghies in foam sandwich polyester and epoxy, using modern processes such as vacuum bagging. In the early part of his career Peter White gained the reputation as a top class sailmaker with Seahorse Sails by producing many championship-winning sails. Using his own designs Peter won the World 505 Championship and many other major events.

Both have a wealth of sailing experience and expertise in dinghies and yachts, but recently have focused on the Squib class with the result that products have been developed specifically for this class.

White Marine are East Coast agents for Hyde Sails Ltd and our knowledge of sails and rigs is of considerable assistance to yacht owners looking to upgrade sails or sailing systems.
Peter White has re-designed the Hyde Squib sails to the extent that most of the top boats in the class now use Hyde sails.

Boat Repairs.

Peter White’s extensive boatbuilding knowledge makes him the ideal person to carry out repair work or give advice on repairs. Again, Squibs have been our speciality but we have worked on a wide variety of dinghies and yachts.
