Racing - Dyneema

Dyneema rope is ideal for racing and can also be extremely useful on cruising yachts. Commonly it is possible to reduce the rope by 1 or 2 sizes and improve handing and performance. Size for size, dyneema is one of the lightest technical fibres in production.

Stripping of the cover can further reduce weight by 65% whilst retaining strength, stretch and wear characteristics.

Tapering the cover on spinnaker sheets means less weight at the clew and will enable the spinnaker to fly higher especially in light winds. However, the cover needs to be retained for ease of handling.
