The term “running rigging” covers halyards, sheets, control lines and other ropes used on a sailing yacht. On cruising yachts, running rigging is typically made from polyester braided ropes. High-tech ropes such as dyneema, which is constructed from an aramid fibre having low-stretch characteristics and high strength, are increasingly being used on racing yachts and blue-water cruising yachts.

There is huge range of braided polyester ropes on the market today plus combinations of dyneema with polyester and pure dyneema.

All modern ropes offer decent low stretch and high ultimate strength.

Here at White Marine Services we offer high-quality polyester braid-on-braid for cruising halyards, sheets and control lines from stock.
We also stock a limited range of dyneema ropes.

We can supply splicing, end whips and various types of shackle for halyards and sheets, The end whips enable attachment to messenger lines to ease the replacement of halyards.
